Hany El-Gayar has been appointed director of food and beverages at Shanghai Marriott Hotel Hongqiao.
El-Gayar began his career with Marriott International in 1994 after graduating with a Ph. D. in Economics from Yemen University. His extensive 13-year experience in the hospitality industry includes positions at Budapest Marriott Hotel in Hungary, Cairo Marriott Hotel in Egypt, Calgary Marriott Hotel in Canada, and until recently Doha Marriott Hotel in Qata where he served as director of restaurants.
Awarded the global "Spirit to Serve" prize in 2006 by Marriott International for his active community involvement, El-Gayar is committed to maintaining excellent quality and service at Shanghai Marriott Hotel Hongqiao.
