News from Chongqing Municipal Tourism Department is that CTS Chongqing will join hands with AFG New Zealand, a subsidiary of AFG Trust Corporate Banking, to introuce a deluxe six-star hotel in Chongqing.

According to local media, CTS Chongqing and AFG New Zealand will invest RMB1.2 billion to introduce Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts or Starwood Hotels and Resorts to Chongqing to build a super six-star hotel and villa on Nanbin Road.

The hotel project will cover 218mu. According to the investors, 47% of the space will be used to build a state guest class garden to form a complete scenic belt in Yuzhong area. In addition, they will construct a coastal area as well as a luxury cruiser in an effort to drive up the tourism in the Three Gorges area.
