Emirates has created a new position, Vice President – Hong Kong & China, and has promoted Edwin Wing Chu Lau to the new role.

Lau has played a significant role in setting up Emirates' operations in Shanghai and Beijing, as well as in growing the market rapidly. He will continue to oversee the operations, sales and marketing of the airline in mainland China and Hong Kong. He earlier held the position of regional manager – Greater China and North East Asia.

Lau has been working at Emirates for the past 15 years, and has more than thirty years' experience in the aviation industry. Prior to Emirates he held positions at Jardines Airways, Hong Kong Air International, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Royal Brunei Airlines.
