Sofitel Forebase Chongqing, the first hotel under the management of Accor in Chongqing, has made two new top hires.

Ron Podlas has been appointed general manager of the hotel. Podlas, from South Africa, has spent more than thirty years in the hospitality industry in various senior management positions, with extensive international experience in South Africa, United States of America, Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, and mainland China with the Accor Group and other international hotel groups. Prior to the opening of this new hotel in Chongqing, he served as general manager with Accor in various Asian and US properties.

Jenny Xu is taking the position of director of sales and marketing, and is overseeing all sales and marketing activities at the hotel. Bringing with her over ten years of diversified international hotel experience in areas like Hangzhou, Shenyang, Chongqing, Xu is a dynamic hotelier specializing in sales and marketing. Maintaining the stable and close relationship with many key accounts, she and her sales team will keep to developing the market share of the hotel.
