Due to the continuous price rise of international oil, the operational costs of airlines continues to increase.

The Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong said they have received applications from six airline companies for delays of the surcharge collection by about two more months.

According to the Civil Aviation Department, there are 57 airlines approved to collect surcharges of HK$61-428 per trip. The Civil Aviation Department said that they will take oil price changes and related factors into account as they make decisions on further moves.
