The Xinzheng International Airport has established its expansion project and passed a final inspection by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Zhengzhou Airport spent more than two years on its expansion. After expansion, the airport's terminal building increased from 45,900 square meters to 128,899 square meters, and the aircraft parking area expanded from 110,000 square meters to 260,000 square meters, as well as plane parking lots increasing from 14 to 31.

The Xinzheng International Airport is estimated to handle a transportation capacity of 11.5 million passengers annually, and 350,000 tons of cargo. The newly expanded Xinzheng International Airport is expected to be opened before the upcoming Spring Festival travel peak in 2008.

The airport has 86 routes throughout provincial capital cities around China and 14 domestic and international airlines have settled at this airport.
