Chinese Citizens Exempt From Visa Requirements To Ecuador

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador has announced that Chinese citizens visiting Ecuador will be exempted from visa requirements from February 15, 2008.

The announcement states that in order to strengthen the two countries' cooperation and ties and for the convenience of the increasing number of exchange visitors as well as to promote Ecuador's tourism development, Ecuador made this decision to offer visa exemption for Chinese citizens' visiting Ecuador from February 15 2008 onwards. Chinese tourists are allowed to remain in Ecuador for a maximum of 90 days.

According to the Chinese Embassy to the Republic of Ecuador, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador has issued notices to customs houses, airports and tourism related departments of the country.

Ecuador is an important tour destinations in South America and has rich and interesting tourism resources listed by UNESCO in its World Heritage List.
