Shilin County has signed an agreement with Yunnan Xingyun Tobacco Investment Company Limited to build a tourism service area and a sports field with a total investment of RMB3 billion.

The Shilin Tourism Service Area is to be located near the Tourist Reception Center of Shilin Scenic Area. It will be built as a comprehensive tourism area combined dining, shopping, residence, and meeting facilities. This project with an investment of RMB1.5 billion is scheduled to have its first phase of construction – including an international five-star standard hotel – completed by the end of 2009 and the whole project will be completed by the end of 2010.

Another project, a sports field with an investment of RMB1.5 billion aims to meet the requirements of high-end tourists' spending their holiday in Shilin. It includes a sports field, athletes¡¯ apartments, hotels, and dining and shopping outlets as well as fitness and entertainment facilities. The project is scheduled to start construction from this April and to be completed by the end of 2012.
