According to the Fuzhou Tourism Bureau, Fujian is welcoming a RMB1 billion tourism project in Muyu Island, Fuqing.

The project will be built as a high-end tourism complex to international standards and will combine leisure, sightseeing, sports, and business facilities. According to initial plans, the Muyu Island Scenic Area consists of three themed parks: a business leisure resort park, a seaside leisure sports park, and a cultural architecture park. Of these the park with the theme of business leisure resort includes a five-star resort hotel with a Southeast Asian flavor.

Muyu Island is a three square kilometer island located in Shapu Town, Fuqing City. In order to take advantage of its abundant natural tourism resources, local tourism departments have invited a famous Canadian company to design the project and the developer plans to complete the large project in five years.
