Erlianhot Civil Airport Obtains Construction Approval
The National Development and Reform Commission has approved the feasibility study report for the construction of Erlianhot Civil Airport in Inner Mongolia.
The project aims to meet the requirement to handle 149,000 passengers and 1,341 tons of cargo by 2015. The airport will be a 4C level flight area with a 2,400-meter-long and 45-meter-wide runway, a 240-meter-long and 23-meter-wide taxiway, a 3,000-square-meter terminal building and fire protection, power supply, and water supply facilities. The project is estimated to require an investment of RMB230 million.
Erlianhot is located at the jumping-off point of the No.208 National Highway, 7,623 kilometers from Moscow, 714 kilometers from Ulan Bator, and 720 kilometers from Beijing.
