Beijing Capital International Airport Signs With Athens Airport

Beijing Capital International Airport has signed a cooperation memorandum in its Terminal 3 with Athens International Airport to form a friendly airport relationship.

Both parties agreed to cooperate on and communicate about aspects of Olympic security and airport management.

Yang Guoqing, vice director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China; Michalis Kambanis, Greek ambassador to Beijing; and Dr. Yiannis Paraschis, CEO of Athens International Airport attended the signing ceremony.

According to the memorandum, the two parties reached consensus on aspects of communicating experiences of Olympic airport services security and airport management, and cooperation in marketing promotion, airport technology, and information communication. During the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Athens International Airport will assign personnel with experiences of Olympic security services to Beijing Capital International Airport to offer consultancy services, guidance and exchange experience.

In addition, the two airports will provide consultancy services for each other on the management and development of aviation and non-aviation business.
