Continental Airlines Inks Tourism Agreement With Shanghai

U.S. based Continental Airlines has signed a letter of intent with the Shanghai Tourism Bureau on jointly developing the tourism market.

The letter of intent was signed on March 27 when a delegation led by Jeffery Smisek, the president of Continental Airlines, visited Shanghai Tourism Bureau.

The letter of intent reached between the parties is reported to include broadcasting a 30 second World Expo 2010 advertisement on Continental Airlines' flights; arranging joint promotions over the three years to attract passengers of Continental Airlines to come to visit Shanghai, and mutually promoting tourism resource between Shanghai and the United States by making full use of Continental Airlines' various platforms.

As the fifth largest carrier from the United States, Continental Airlines currently runs more than 3,000 flights globally. On March 26, 2009, the airline launched a non-stop service between New York and Shanghai.
