CCTB And IBOT Make Big Steps In Chinese Market

The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau and the Illinois Bureau of Tourism have made a big step in entering Chinese tourism market with the appointment of Aviareps Marketing Garden Ltd as their service promoters in China.

Cathy Domanico, the director of tourism sales and operations for the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau, said that China will be the world's largest outbound tourism country before 2011; and with the U.S. authorities lifting bans on visa services and the launching of many new routes between the U.S. and China, the American Dream is accessible to Chinese tourists and Chicago, as one of the most authentic American cities, will be a perfect travel destination for Chinese tourists. She added that entering into a strategic partnership with AMGL will help better boost Chicago as a hot tourism destination for Chinese tourists.

Jan Kostner, the deputy director of IBOT, commented that Illinois is now accessible to Chinese tourists as they can reach the state via non-stop air services from Beijing or Shanghai. Kostner also stated that the partnership with AMGL will bring more unexpected treasures of Illinois to Chinese tourists.

AMGL is an affiliate of Aviareps, a supplier of tourism management and airline ticket sales, which has offices in more than 30 countries and provides promotion services for more than 70 airlines and 85 travel destinations. Liu Jing, director of AMGL China, said that AMGL will present the best of both Illinois and Chicago to Chinese tourists and they believe that more and more Chinese tourists will choose Illinois and Chicago as their cost-effective travel destinations.
