Swissotel Appoints Van Den Bogaerde Regional Vice President For China

Swissotel Hotels & Resorts has appointed Julian van den Bogaerde as the regional vice president, for China. This appointment is in addition to his current role as general manager of Swissotel Grand, Shanghai, a position he assumed in October 2008.

Prior to his appointment in Shanghai, van den Bogaerde was based in the head office of Swissotel Hotels & Resorts in Zurich as general manager. During this time, he provided support to various properties around the world, in particular Swissotel Ankara where he led the pre-opening team for Swissotel Grand Efes, Izmir, which opened in May 2008. Before joining Swissotel Hotels & Resorts, van den Bogaerde was vice president food and beverage with Raffles International Limited from 1999 to 2003. His career history also includes various food and beverage management positions with The Regent in Bangkok and Sydney, Four Seasons in Vancouver, and The Savoy in London.
