Guangdong Travel Agency Invests in Outbound Travel

Guangdong based Nanhu International Travel Agency from has signed with several airline companies and contracted a total of about 200 charter flights for outbound travel.

It is learned that NITA has signed with Shenzhen Airlines and contracted for more than 100 charter flights from the carrier to the island of Bali Island. In addition, NITA has signed with China Southern, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways, contracting charter flights for such popular Asian routes as Guangzhou/Hong Kong-Phuket, Guangzhou/Hong Kong-Bangkok and Guangzhou/Hong Kong-Sapporo. The terms for these charter flights, which total over 200, reportedly range from three months to a whole year.

Chen Zhichao, the deputy general manager of NITA, says that it is now cheaper to contract charter flights than it was before the global financial crisis and this helps the company save about CNY30 million a year.

It is understood that charter flights will bring a direct price reduction in air fares. For example a round-trip ticket on a charter flight to Bali Island is now about CNY1,500 cheaper than taking non-charter flights.
