Henk Meyknecht has been appointed as area general manager–China of Marco Polo Group, together with being the general manager of Marco Polo Parkside, Beijing from August 2009.

Born in the Netherlands, he has a career spanning over 26 years in Europe, the Middle East, North America, and the Far East. He has worked for SAS, Hilton International, Peninsula Hotels and InterContinental Hotels. From 2002 to 2005 he was general manager of the Omni Saigon Hotel in Vietnam. From 2005 to 2007 he was responsible for the opening of the Marco Polo Shenzhen. In April 2007 he was relocated to Wuhan in charge of the opening of Marco Polo Wuhan. Meyknecht is also a member of the board of supervisors at the Hotel School Maastricht in the Netherlands.
