Waldorf Astoria, the luxury and lifestyle hotel brand in the Hilton Family of Hotels portfolio, has appointed Dirk De Cuyper as the general manager of Waldorf Shanghai on the Bund, which is scheduled to open in 2010.

With a career spanning over fifteen years at Hilton Hotels Corporation, De Cuyper has extensive experience working in hotel management in Brussels, New York, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and China. Prior to taking on his new role at Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, he held the position of pre-opening general manager of Conrad Shanghai, and was general manager at the Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa.
