The Le Meridien Chongqing, Nan'an — the first international five-star hotel in Nan'an district, Chongqing — is scheduled to open on December 11, 2009.

The 319-room property is owned by the Wanda Group and is situated in Wanda Plaza in the Nan'an Nanping Business District on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the river, while the Liberation Square CBD area of Chongqing is a 10-minute drive away. For wining and dining there are three restaurants, with local, regional and international dishes and a lobby lounge bar, with signature cocktails. While for meetings and events there are nine separate meeting or function rooms, with a total area of 1,694 square meters, supported by a full service business center.

Chongqing is one of four Chinese municipalities under the direct leadership of the central government. As Chongqing was the provisional capital of China for almost 10 years until 1945, there are several buildings and museums related to World War II. The city is also known for its 3,000-plus bridges.
