Croatia Welcomes Chinese Groups With Schengen Visas

The Croatian Minister of Tourism, Damir Bajs, announced in Zagreb that the Croatian government has decided that, during the tourist season of 2010, Chinese citizens holding Schengen visas can travel to the country in tour groups without a separate Croatian visa.

This decision was announced after Bajs met with Wu Qilian, the Chinese ambassador to Croatia. Bajs also revealed that the country will set up a Croatian National Tourist Board Office in Shanghai in 2010 to further promote tourism cooperation between the two countries.

Bajs said that in 2009 7,600 Chinese citizens visited Croatia, an increase of 19% compared with that in 2008. And he expects that this new measure will bring more Chinese tourists to the country.

The tourist season for 2010 is the period from April 1 to October 31.
