Jetstar To Open New Singapore-Guilin Route

Singapore-based budget carrier Jetstar Asia has outlined the plans to introduce a direct service between Singapore and Guilin from November 3, 2010: subject to regulatory approval.

The flights are scheduled to run on Wednesdays and Saturdays with flight 3K 827 departing from Singapore at 10:00 and arriving in Guilin at 13:55. The return flight, 3K 828 will leave Guilin at 14:35 and arrive in Singapore at 18:30.

Jetstar Asia's chief executive officer, Chong Phit Lian, stated at the recent China Guilin International Tourism Expo that the new services had the potential to bring in many more new tourists to Guilin each week due to greater convenience. She added that they were delighted to introduce Jetstar's low fares onto the route to stimulate new and positive tourism traffic in both directions, reducing travel time by more than half to three and half hours.

The twice weekly Singapore to Guilin A320 service will be Jetstar's third mainland China route and its sixth overall Greater China destination. From Singapore, Jetstar flies to mainland China destinations Haikou and Shantou, and to Greater China destinations Macau, Hong Kong, and Taipei.

The new Guilin to Singapore service will be included in Jetstar Asia's interline agreement with Qantas and Air France / KLM.
