Shenzhen Airport Passenger Traffic Up 5.9% In October

The operator of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport has released statistics on airport movements for October 2010.

In October, passenger traffic at Shenzhen Airport rose 5.9% from a year earlier to 2.34 million, and the cargo throughput was about 69,700 tons, 33.9% more than in the same period in the previous year. The statistics also showed that passenger traffic through the airport rose 10.8% to 22.31 million in the period from January to October 2010.

As of the end of October, cargo traffic had risen 35.5% year on year to 661,500 tons.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China in 2009, Shenzhen airport handled 24.49 million passengers, making it the fifth busiest in the country.
