The St. Regis Beijing Gets New Chinese Name

A renaming ceremony was held recently in the Garden Lounge of The St. Regis Beijing to announce that the Chinese name of the hotel is now Beijing Ruiji Jiudian, which translates directly into English as The St. Regis Beijing.

When the hotel was established in 1997 as a member of Sheraton's Luxury Collection it was named Beijing International Club Hotel, and the Chinese version of the name continued to be used even after the hotel was re-branded as The St. Regis Beijing in 2000. The St. Regis Beijing was the first St. Regis branded hotel in the Asia Pacific region and the re-branding marked the introduction of the signature St. Regis Butler service which is available to every guest in the hotel.

Today the St. Regis brand can be found in a number of cities across China — including Shanghai and Lhasa, and with new hotels under development in Tianjin, Chengdu, Nanjing, and Sanya. The Chinese brand name Ruiji Jiudian, translating into English as St. Regis Hotel, will be used across all St. Regis hotels in China.
