Ctrip Launches Tourist Transport Center In Shanghai

Ctrip has announced it has opened a transport center in Shanghai for short-haul individual tourists, allowing them to take bus trips for more than 300 tourist destinations in Zhejiang province, Shanghai, Anhui province, and Jiangxi province.

The center, which is the first in China to be established by Ctrip, is expected to transport as many as 5,000 tourists per day and will offer consulting services and space for tourists to wait and take a rest.

According to Chen Yanyi, the deputy general manager of Ctrip's travel business, the opening of the center shows that online travel reservation has become the most popular option among local residents who want to take short-haul trips, and it is also an important step for Ctrip to improve its offline services.

Chen added that Ctrip also plans to launch tourism products sales and interactive activities with tourists.

In recent years, Ctrip has independently developed more than 300 tourism products around Shanghai, covering most destinations in Zhejiang province, Shanghai, Anhui province, and Jiangxi province.
