Air China, the country's flag carrier, has selected the Datalex Travel Distribution Platform for all online domestic and international shopping and reservations as well as for its call center operations.
According to a statement released by TDP, Air China will leverage the TDP application portfolio to tailor and optimize its air and ancillary product offerings to customers.
In the statement Cormac Whelan, the CEO of Datalex, said the becoming the solution of choice for such a major Chinese carrier was an honor and further validation of Datalex's leading pricing and merchandizing solutions. He added that, in cooperation with IBM Global Services, they would move quickly to accelerate the growth and success of the Air China direct channel: in keeping with Air China's exemplary standards of customer service standard.
Dublin-based Datalex is a provider of travel distribution software and solutions that enable multi-channel distribution strategies for global airline suppliers and travel distributors.
Air China recently announced that its passenger traffic rose 5.2% year on year in February 2011.
