Macau Publishes Room Rates For Labor Day Holiday

The Macau Government Tourist Office has published guestroom rates for the period from April 29 to May 9, 2011 on its official website.

The Tourist Office will also pass the room rates to Macau SAR Government Consumer Council and travel agency associations. If guests book a room directly from a hotel, the room rate shall not be higher than the upper limit it had reported to the Tourist Office.

The Tourist Office held meetings with representatives from hospitality industry in mid April to discuss the room rates of different categories of hotel guestrooms during the Labor Day holiday. Both parties agree that it is normal business practice that the room rates change between low and high seasons, but this change should be transparent so tourists can make informed choices.

According to the regulations in Macau, hotels should report changes in room rates to the Macau Government Tourist Office whenever they are made.
