Hong Kong Strengthens Tourism Ties With Henan

Hong Kong's commissioner for tourism, Philip Yung, together with representatives of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Tourism Board and travel trade representatives, recently attended the Henan-Hong Kong Bilateral Tourism Exchange and Cooperation Meeting in Zhengzhou, Henan.

The Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong has signed a tourism cooperation agreement with Henan Provincial Tourism Administration to strengthen co-operation and exchanges between the two places, step up information sharing, and develop honest and quality tourism. Both sides also agree to establish mechanisms for information interchange and handling emergencies, to improve efficiency in handling tourism incidents.

The HKTB also briefed Henan representatives on its promotion platforms including its mobile applications and website, and reviewed its efforts in 2010 and 2011, as well as the Quality Tourism Services Scheme.

Organized by Henan Provincial Tourism Administration, Asia Tourism Exchange Center of China National Tourism Administration and Tourism Commission, the event was designed to increase the interaction and mutual understanding of the tourism industries in Hong Kong and Henan.
