Hong Kong Proposes To Offer Multiple Entry Visas In More Cities

Henry Tang Ying-yen, Hong Kong's chief secretary for administration, is proposing that Hong Kong offer multiple entry visas to people in more cities in Guangdong province.

Tang's proposal means that permanent residents in Dongguan, Zhuhai, Foshan and Guangzhou all can apply for the multiple trip visas for Hong Kong and Macau. Meanwhile, people whose permanent residence is not in Guangzhou can also apply for the Hong Kong and Macau Pass directly in Guangzhou without going back to their hometown.

The new proposal has been acclaimed by Guangdong's tourism industry. Guang Zhi Lv, one of the largest travel service providers in Guangdong, says that the policy not only facilitates tourists travel, but also brings an important opportunity for travel agencies to expand their service.

Previously, permanent residents in Shenzhen were offered the favorable policy of multiple trip visas for Hong Kong and Macau, but non-Guangdong natives often needed to go back to their home town to complete the relevant formalities before they could travel in Hong Kong and Macau.
