The Hong Kong SAR government has announced that they will invest HKD5.5 billion for the reconstruction of Ocean Park.

It is forecasted that the park can bring Hong Kong HK$40-48 billion in the first 40 years following the reconstruction. It will complement the newly-opened Hong Kong Disneyland and become the premier choice for family tourists.

The construction will be carried out in separate schedules so that the normal operation of the park will not be affected.

The construction is expected to be completed in 2010.
