Sol Melia Opens Its First Luxury Hotel In China

Spanish brand Melia Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of the first flagship Grand Melia hotel in China.

Gran Melia Shanghai opened recently as a luxury five-star hotel with 686 guest rooms. Located at the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone in Pudong New District, the hotel is located close to the Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower and Shanghai Ocean Aquarium.

Gran Melia Shanghai's executive floor has 119 junior suites, 12 superior suites, a presidential suite and an imperial suite. The Red Level is the hotel's VIP floor with an exclusive registration area, a special breakfast, free cocktail parties, and private accesses to the Red Level leisure area.

For meetings and events, Gran Melia Shanghai has a pillarless grand ballroom that can accommodate 800 people; 14 multifunction rooms that can accommodate 20 to 150 people; and a business center with wireless Internet access, secretarial services, interpretation, facsimile, and email services. There are also two private meeting rooms for guests' use.

At YHI Spa, the spa brand of Sol Melia, services include massage, beauty are and other spa services. Guests can also relax in the fitness center near the spa.
