Sardinia Tourism Information Office Opens In Shanghai

Sardinia, Confindustria, and Northern Sardinia Tourism Association have jointly set up a Sardinia Tourism Information Office in Shanghai, and the Chinese language website sardiniatourism.org has been officially launched.

The opening of the office and the launch of website are the first steps of Sardinia's tourism promotion program in China, which was initiated in 2009 by Sardinia Tourism and Luwan District Government. It will offer travel information and plans for Italy and Sardinia to Chinese tourists.

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and it not only has a unique natural landscape, beautiful beaches and ancient traditions and costumes, but has numerous archaeological remains, abundant art works, and delicious cuisine.

Giorgio Macciocu, the president of Confindustria, said there had been more and more travel queries from Chinese tourists since they launched the marketing activity in 2009. He added that the office and the Chinese website will help improve communications between Sardinia and the tourists.
