Taiwan's Sun Moon Lake Receives 700,000 Mainland Tourists

Sun Moon Lake, the largest natural lake in Taiwan, saw the number of visitor arrivals from the Chinese mainland hit 700,000 in the first seven months of this year.

It is reportedly that the average number of mainland visitors was between 3,000 and 4,000 per day. The increasing number of mainland tourists has helped boost the scenic spot's income and food and gift consumption.

According to industry analysts, mainland tourists have contributed at least CNY4 billion consumption income for the island, with each spending CNY7,000 at most.

Surrounded by green mountains, Sun Moon Lake is regarded as the pearl of central Taiwan.
