Gansu: Tourism Income Exceeds CNY17 billion This Year

According to the Gansu provincial tourism administration, the number of tourists arrivals was about 31.32 million in the first eight months of this 2010.

The province's tourism revenues were about CNY17.48 billion in the period from January to August 2010. The full-year tourism income is expected to exceed CNY23.5 billion.

In recent years, the provincial government has promoted Silk Road trips,Yellow River travel, and its Red Tourism resources, in a bid to speed up the development of the province's tourism sector.

To date the province has established one world-class biosphere reserve, three national scenic resorts and historic sites, 23 national forest parks, four national geological parks, eight China Top Tourist Cities, 10 national industrial tourism demonstration sites, and eight national red tourism classic sites.
