Yunnan Lucky Air launched a 90% discount air ticket on its website on December 20, and it has already caused disputes in the market.

On December 20, Lucky Air announced that passengers can get 90% discount for their air tickets from Kunming to Taiyuan, Wuhan or Dali by buying tickets through their website from December 20-25, and they offered this discount for all their e-tickets from December 25 to January 1, 2007.

As a result, all their e-tickets were sold out in 3 days, but the airline has also reportedly caused anger among China's largest airlines companies. A representative from China Southern said that the low airfare offered by Lucky Air didn't bring real conflict to them, however, the 90% discount was a bad business move as it would lead to unfair competition in the market. A representative from China Eastern told local media that this would make a lot of passengers misunderstand that airlines companies usually offer great discounts at the end of the year.

A representative from Lucky Air explained that the great discount is only a reward for their customers, and it should not be bad for competition.
