On August 3, new classification signs were issued to the first group of five-star hotels in Beijing that include Beijing Hotel, Swissotel, Kunlun Hotel, Kerry Center Hotel, St Regis Hotel, Tianlun Dynasty Hotel, Beijing International Hotel, Jingrui Hot-Spring International Hotel and Holiday Crown Plaza Hotel.

Work began on changing signs for hotels with a star-ranking as early as in the first half of July and it is expected by September 1, all 614 hotels across the city will use the new signs.
