Air Company SCAT Opens Chimkent To Urumqi Route

SCAT Air Company, an airline based in Kazakhstan, launched a scheduled flight from Chimkent to Xinjiang's Urumqi on April 1.

Following this new service, the company will also provide scheduled flight from Ust-Kamenogorsk to Urumqi soon. There is one fight a week on each of the two routes — both are operated using YAK-42 aircraft. Xinjiang Airport Group has signed a ground service agent agreement with SCAT Air Company.

This air company is the second airline in Kazakhstan authorized to operate routes from the destinations around the country to Urumchi – the other airlines is Air Astana. SCAT Air Company is also the first Kazakhstan airline to provide scheduled flights to Urumqi in recent years.

Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Chimkent, the company has about 28 aircraft and operates domestic and international routes to surrounding countries.
