Zhejiang Civil Aviation Security Supervision Office says that they have set up a team to specifically deal with the flight delay problems occurring in the province.

At present, there are seven civil airports in Zhejiang Province. Due to the dense airport network, flight delays keep escalating in the province. Statistics show that in the first months of 2006, there were 16,770 delayed flights among the total 57,137 flights, and the regular on-time rate was only 70.65%, which was 9.73% lower than the normal national level.

The creation of this team is aimed at creating a platform for communication about the great number of delayed flights. With more than 30 members, the team is responsible for transmitting information, checking emergency measures for flight delays in the airports and accepting complaints from passengers.

In the meantime, airline companies are asked to make a fixed standard and solution for flight delays to ensure that ground service staff can solve problems immediately by themselves instead of asking for instructions from the airline companies in times of emergency.
