Amnuay Thiamkeerakul, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Beijing Office, says that they will target the travel market in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin and Xi'an this year to attract one million tourists to Thailand.
The king of Thailand is 80 years old this year and the country is preparing for a year of celebrations. The Thai Government will invite 80 top China travel agencies to visit Thailand for investigating their travel spots and tour routes, including headline travel cities such as Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. They will display their scenic spots and safety facilities to those travel firms from China.
In the meantime, the Tourism Authority of Thailand will come to Shanghai and Guangzhou to promote their travel products in March.
Chinese tourists stay in Thailand for an average of 6 days, spending about 4000 baht on their trip.
