During this year's Spring Festival holiday, China welcomed 92.2 million tourists, an increase of 17.7% from the same period of the previous year.

Totally, the country saw RMB43.8 billion, an increase of 19%, going into travel-related coffers. According to the report from China's National Holiday Office, of the RMB43.8 billion in revenue, RMB3.01 billion was from civil aviation and RMB1.92 billion was from railway transportation.

The 39 main travel cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Dalian, earned a total of RMB20.1 billion.

During the holiday, 179 department stores in the 39 main travel cities, earned RMB4.45 billion, which was an increase of 18.1% from the previous year. 174 restaurants in these cities also earned RMB342 million, an increase of 10.9%. Initial statistics from the report show that 90% of all tourists were satisfied with their trips.

During the holiday, Shanghai also received 2800 inbound air flights.
