Nine airline companies have been approved by the Civil Aviation Department Hong Kong to add surcharges within two months of October 1.
Cathay Pacific Airways will reportedly increase surcharges from HK$424 to HK$428 for long-distance routes, and for shorter routes it will go up from HK$103 to HK$104. Meanwhile, Aeroflot will change surcharges from HK$236 to HK$384.
China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines will all raise surcharges from HK$103 to HK$104.
