The China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) announced that more than 185 scenic spots in the country, including nine in Beijing have been rated 4A by a special assessment team.

At present, there are 671 4A grade scenic spots in China.

The nine new 4A grade scenic spots in Beijing are Zhoukoudian Pithecanthrope Relic Museum, Nangong Scenic Spot, City Wall of Yuan Dynasty, Sunrise Park, Huairou Qinglongxia Gorge Holiday Resort, Simatai Great Wall in Miyun, Fangshan Shidu Scenic Spot, Beijing City Planning Exhibition Hall, and Shenglian Shan Scenic Spot.

CNTA has classified scenic spots in the country with five grades, namely AAAAA, AAAA, AAA, AA, and AA in order to better manage them.
