China Youth Travel Service (CYTS) announced that it will open a subsidiary in Shanghai. CYTS will invest RMB80 million in the new company and also provide RMB20 million to its Beijing subsidiary Beijing CYTS Chuangge Technology Company.
According to Zhang Lijun, a director at CYTS, the Shanghai company will open after Spring Festival and will specialize in inbound, domestic and outbound travel.
Local media report that Shanghai travel agencies, including Shanghai Spring Travel Service and Jinjiang Travel Service, are concerned as to whether CYTS can find a footing in Shanghai.
