100 visitors from Guangdong Province's Shunde area who were refused entry at Hong Kong Disneyland during the Spring Festival holiday have received about RMB55000 in compensation.
Many visitors to the theme park were denied entry over the holiday because Disneyland had too many guests and was worried about safety.
Local media report that the compensation was not given by Hong Kong Disneyland, but instead by a local travel agency that had organized the trip. It is not clear if the travel agency had, in turn, been provided funds by Disneyland.
The local Consumers' Bureau agrees the travel agency should compensate the travelers.
