Shanghai Airlines will soon open its first hotel near the new Shanghai South Railway Station.

A representative from Shanghai Airlines told local media that the company will open several dozen hotels across the country in the next twenty years and make hotel service a new developing sector for the company.

At present, Shanghai Airlines is either choosing sites or constructing hotels in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. Most of the hotels are located at the transport hub areas of the respective cities.

Shanghai Airlines' first hotel, which is called Shanghai Air Holiday Hotel, consists of seven floors and 400 rooms whose rate is RMB200-300 per day.

Different from the large hotels of Hainan Airlines and China Eastern, Shanghai Air Holiday Hotel is a budget hotel that is built from a transformed factory building. It mainly targets at Shanghai Airline's passengers and part of the passengers from the Shanghai South Railway Station.
