Shangri-La's Kerry Centre Hotel Beijing recently welcomed its new Executive Chef, Horst Kocsisek.

An Austrian national, Kocsisek will head the hotel's culinary team and be responsible for the hotel's Coffee Garden, Horizon Chinese Restaurant as well as its large function facilities.

In addition to this, Kocsisek will be responsible for the opening of the Hotel's new Bento and Berries Deli concept.

Born to be a Chef, Kocsisek chose cooking as his vocation when he graduated from high school. He then paved his way from Apprentice, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef to Executive Chef, and has gained rich experience worldwide in Austria, Switzerland, Holland, the Bermudas, Malaysia and the Chinese Mainland in Qingdao and Beijing. Having been with Shangri-La Hotels previously in China and Malaysia.

His extensive kitchen management experience acquired from posts in diverse corners of the world contributes to making Horst a welcome addition to our team, said Darren Gearing, General Manager, of Shangri-La's Kerry Centre Hotel.
