Hong Kong local media report that five mainland cities will allow their citizens to visit Hong Kong during the coming May 1 holiday.

Some Hong Kong travel agencies who are responsible for receiving these tourists have planned to arrange hotels for the travelers in Macao or Shenzhen to save cost.

A representative from the travel agency that is in charge of receiving mainland tourists says that the price of hotels in Hong Kong may be very expensive during the upcoming holiday, and this is why they have decided to transfer the tourists to the neighboring areas like Macao and Shenzhen.

Starting in April when a lot of conferences and exhibitions are held, the four-star hotels in Hong Kong are likely to mark up their prices. However, they say that the price of three-star hotels will not change much.
