The Work Office of the Yanqing Badaling Special Zone says that the total management rights of Badaling Great Wall, which used to be run by three different corporations, has now been assigned to the national government.
A representative from the Work Office tells local media that it took the government three years to coordinate among the parties to finally gain back the right to manage the popular tourist destination.
The government says it has already worked out a plan for managing this part of the Great Wall. It says that 7600 meters of the Great Wall will first be repaired before 2008. And before May 1 this year, 130 signs will be fixed along the wall as travel guides.
All the income from ticket sales at the site will be spent on cultural relic protection.
