Qantas and Air China are seeking International Air Services Commission (IASC) to codeshare on Sydney-Beijing services.

The move would allow Air China to sell up to 15 economy class seats on each of Qantas' three weekly A330 services between Sydney and Beijing effective May 15.

Qantas said it did not intend to codeshare on Beijing-based Air China's services.

The Australian flag carrier said the arrangement with Air China would have no impact on its codeshare deal with China Eastern on Sydney-Shanghai services.
