Beijing's Chaoyang District Government has opened a new Visa Service Center located on Xiu Shui Dong Jie near the entrance to the Visa Section of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing.

The Center is called Beijing Service Hall of the U.S. Visa Application

While this Center was designed for use by those applying for U.S. Visas, the U.S. Embassy in Beijing does not control the Center or the services it provides, nor does the Embassy receive any of the fees that the Center collects.

The new Center will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

The Center will offer a spacious, comfortable waiting area with over 80 seats. There will be assistance to prepare the Electronic Visa Application Form and other forms for applicants. Applicants can use the onsite photographic studio, photocopying service, and lockers for storing personal items. There is also a branch office of China CITIC Bank.

There is a charge for most of these services.  However, visa applicants are not required to use any of these services, except for the Post Office visa delivery or pick up service which all applicants receiving a U.S. visa must continue to use. There is no charge to enter the Center and use the waiting room.
