The 1453-kilometer-long Beijing-Shanghai Railway has just been completed, and trial operation will begin on June 15 and formal operation on July 1.

After the transformation, the speed of trains on the railway will reach 200km per hour, shortening the time traveling between Beijing and Shanghai to less than 10 hours.

The Beijing-Shanghai Railway is a key part of China's railway network, and is also the busiest line in the country.

Starting in August 2005, China's Ministry of Railway started to make the improvements. The transformation will not only improve the speed of trains between the two regions, but also help prevent pollution and save energy.
