After four years of construction, Shanghai South Railway Station will be opened on July 1. The station is currently being decorated and in the last stage of trial operation.
From July 1, it will be running 32 daily trains, about for one-third of the total trains currently running at Shanghai Railway Station.
The waiting hall of the Shanghai South Railway Station can accept 16,000 passengers. And the underground space, which boasts about 200,000 square meters in total, will deal with most of the transfer issues.
There is also a 1000-meter underground pavement system which connects with more than 20 exits.
